2019 – Faisalabad, Pakistan
Our second forum demonstrated significant evolution:
- Extensive surveys conducted across Pakistan, including remote Gilgit-Baltistan region
- Exploration of successful e-commerce models, particularly China’s Taobao
- Launch of the Sino-Pak CBEC Association
- High-quality academic sessions with experts from partnering universities
This forum deepened our understanding of local contexts and strengthened international partnerships.
2020 – Virtual Event
Adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hosted our first online forum:
- 4-hour agenda connecting over 100 participants across 7 interactive sessions
- Focus on CBEC’s potential to foster international cooperation and development
- Sessions customized for Bangladesh, involving local universities
- Participants from China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Mongolia, Kenya, and Egypt
This forum demonstrated our resilience and commitment to continued collaboration despite global challenges.
2021 – Jingzhou, China
Returning to an in-person format, this forum focused on pressing global issues:
- Discussions centered on food security challenges and COVID-19 impacts
- Academic session on supply chain research
- Business session featuring case studies from e-commerce enterprises
- Establishment of the Belt and Road Center for Rice Technology Extension and Training (BRC-Rice)
This forum marked a significant step in addressing real-world challenges through CBEC.
2022 – Wuhan, China
Our fifth forum expanded collaborations and deepened our research focus:
- Joint organization with Zhongnan University of Economics and Law
- Focus on food security, poverty, and e-commerce in Belt and Road countries
- Speakers representing China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kenya, Mongolia, and more
- Paper presentations and panel discussions on field survey findings and policy insights
This forum showcased our evolution from practical learning to research leadership.
2023 – Kashgar, China & Gilgit, Pakistan
Our sixth forum expanded across borders:
- Joint organization by Huazhong Agricultural University and Karakoram International University
- Focus on cross-border e-commerce development and agricultural digital services
- Emphasis on solving trust issues in cross-border e-commerce
- Utilization of overseas student resources to improve cross-border efficiency
This forum strengthened the China-Pakistan partnership in CBEC development.
2024 – Dhaka & Mymensingh, Bangladesh
Our seventh forum focused on microfinance and on the future of CBEC:
- Organized by University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and Huazhong Agricultural University
- Focus on sustainable micro-finance initiatives
- Launch of the DD Fund
- Promotion of e-commerce cooperation between China and Bangladesh
This forum aimed to further expand our reach and impact in South Asia.
